Using the Sun at Home

The sun is a free gift from the creator of the universe,
It supplies infinite amount of energy on a daily basis through (light and heat) which can be used to achieve energy-intensive goals.

Heat is transferred to earth from the sun through radiation.

  • Locally, heat produced from the sun can be used for drying food ingredients, clothing materials and virtually anything that needs to be dried.
  • Technically, heat from the sun can be used for cooking, baking and clean fast-drying
  • How?

Radiation from the sun is converted to heat on touching a blackbody (blackbody could be anything even you) on earth. The heat can then be used in drying, cooking, baking, etc. and the better the blackbody, the hotter its environment.

  • Technically, radiation from the sun can be used in the generation of power (electricity).
  • How?

Light from the sun is converted directly to โ€œchargesโ€ (using technology) and is used to charge batteries which can then be used to power home appliances, which includes electric bulbs.

    How to Cook ILA ALASEPO

    Okro fruit. Source: http://southpawgroup.com/iqfoodplatter

Online Nigeria gave a comprehensive list of the tribes in nigeria among which are the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba tribes. The Yoruba tribe, in its richnes in culture has several types of soup one of which is Ila alasepo literally meaning “concocted Okro/Okra”. It is named so first because it is prepared mainly from the Okro fruit and also you don’t need to prepare stew (or soup) separately with the delicacy to enjoy eating with any of existing solid types of food; all the ingredients and condiments are added to the Okro and cooked together.

Cooking in one pot makes the soup taste delicious as all the sweetness in all the ingredients comes out and mix together to become more tastier. It is a fast soup that takes little time to prepare and thereby giving a great addition to soup recipe for housewives, spinsters, bachelors and students. Not only that, Ila Alasepo can also be included in the soup menu for guests and in traditional events as appropriate.
